How it began…
A couple years back, my wife and I had 2 tickets to Hamilton. As luck would have it, a week before the show, my wife had to attend to an emergency, and I was left “single”. I asked around if anyone wanted those tickets—I’d rather not go than go alone. Finding no takers, I ended up hawking them on StubHub.
This got me thinking though.
Were I single, should I be at the mercy of friends if I wanted to watch a movie, catch a game, attend a concert…?
Should something I like doing be constrained by my social circle?
Or worse, should I have to spend my precious time mind-numbingly Swiping, playing hot-or-not, just so I could change my (hypothetical) “single” status?
What if my intents were purely platonic, non-romantic?
Heck, 20 years of marriage and my wife and my interests only keep diverging!! I’m into sports and she’s into hiking, she’s into shopping and I’m into returning.
I started thinking about a solution and had a blurry mental outline of it. The kicker was when my daughter started talking about Dating apps. I did not want her entering an online landscape where the only determinant of her wonderful character was a 2 second swipe!! So I decided to do something about it.
Two years later, we at TwoTickets are proud to launch a first of its kind events-first companionship platform. A platform which embodies our core values of Trust, Authenticity & Community. A platform which is about “what you like” and not “what you look like”. A platform where shared experiences lead to Eventful Connections.
Where it goes from there, that’s up to you.
We hope you like it.
